In the Thursday Night Football matchup, the Panthers beat the Falcons with a comfortable 25-15 victory. This victory keeps the Panthers alive in the NFC South. While the Panthers have been poor this season and are still in contention, this just goes on to show how poor their division has been this year. During the win, Baker Mayfield, as per usual, managed to get eyes on him even though he didn’t see the field.

The overall number 1 draft pick for the Browns in 2018 was recently traded to the Panthers, where he was to be their starting quarterback.
Baker Mayfield got no chill
Post their win, Baker was his animated self as usual. Even though he didn’t get to play, he was hyped for his teammates. Mayfield was seen head-butting his fully-kitted teammates without a helmet. As chatter about his personality and his effectiveness on the team roster circulates around, Panthers’ fans didn’t waste any time to give their two cents on his post-game shenanigans.
A fan directly compared him to quarterback Russell Wilson, who doesn’t shy from making breaking news with his antics either.
He’s drinking the same water as Russell Wilson

Another fan saw this as Baker’s unused energy coming out hot.
My take on this is he’s extremely desperate to play and all the pent up energy standing on the sideline finally came out

Another fan saw this just as another attention-grabbing opportunity for the quarterback.
Baker being Bakes. Anything for attention

This fan also didn’t hold back as he said all this was an act of being accepted to his new team.
He tries so hard to be liked and his teammates clearly can't stand him.

A prominent sports anchor also got in on this.
The guy has always been a complete knucklehead.

A fan had a theory behind Baker’s behavior too as he didn’t hold back before stating Baker’s selfish reasons for doing this.
I feel like he’s doing that on purpose so they can’t release him and not pay him. He’ll be on the IR for sure. Not sure if his contract structure though

While most fans took this opportunity to diss Baker, some saw this as a positive sign too.
His way to hype up his team has def always been his unique style 🤣Stay cool Bake!👏 Leave em’ alone lol @bakermayfield

Another fan also saw this as a tactical masterclass from Baker to get him an offer in the postseason.
Everyone’s hating on this. but baker showing he can be a supportive and good back up/team mate, will buy him a few more years as a good back up in the league, making millions a year. I respect it, way better than any job we have

Once considered to be the next big quarterback coming of age, Baker Mayfield, finds himself in not the best-case scenario. However, with the cheques he draws, it can’t be all that bad, but for an athlete, not playing is definitely more hurtful. He had a poor exit from the Browns camp after having compatibility issues with the locker room.
Post his move, he found himself struggling even in North Carolina. The Panthers have 3 blockbuster quarterbacks on their roster, PJ Walker, Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield. With a talent pool of QBs like this, the organization must be doing something wrong for the kind of numbers they are putting up. With PJ Walker as their current go-to guy, Baker has been sidelined.
