It’s Thanksgiving season, so there’s bound to be a lot of love and care in the air. Celebrations are supposed to be non-discriminatory, yet they actually discriminate on a deeper level. Not everyone can afford to celebrate during the holidays, which is where folks with generous hearts step in. The Green Bay Packers are doing their share to support the local community as the winter months approach. The Packers teamed up with Better Days Mentoring this week to donate 400 coats to deserving families.

Green Bay Packers players give out winter coats to families
The Packers continued their annual coat drive this year as well. Families were also given a $100 gift card as part of the package. Jaire Alexander and Eric Stokes, two of the Packers’ best cornerbacks, were among those who took part. Oren Burks [linebacker], and Patrick Taylor Jr, [running back], were also in attendance.
“Giving back is everything,” Alexander said in a special video released by the team. “Showing people that there is hope, that there is good out there. I think is important for not only people to see, but also the younger generation. To see those good things happening, maybe one day they will be able to influence others in the same way.”
