Ever since losing in the playoffs, Rodgers is uncertain about the next season. He has not decided where to stay or go somewhere else. The quarterback is open to offers. 

The Packers franchise has given its stance on the situation concerning the veteran quarterback. It seems like Green Bay does not want to part ways with Rodgers. The Packers is the team most fans will keep an eye on this offseason. 

The Packers addressing their salary cap for next season

The CEO of the Green Bay Packers Mark Murphy touched upon a few issues in the recent monthly column. He talked about the future of the team and said there will be a lot of changes taking place. The CEO also talked about the salary cap situation of the franchise. 

“We are significantly over the salary cap for next year, and will have to make many difficult decisions in order to get under the cap.” The CEO adds, “A key factor will be whether Aaron Rodgers comes back for the 2022 season.” It seems like the Packers are not yet ready to part ways with the 38-year-old quarterback. 

“Executive vice president/director of football operations Russ Ball and I are all in agreement that we want Aaron to come back.” Murphy continues, “He is likely to win his fourth league MVP, is the unquestioned leader of our team, and is still playing at a high level at 38.” The CEO addressed that there will be a lot of changes in the squad, but they will try their best to keep Rodgers around.

Will Aaron Rodgers stay?

Last offseason, Aaron Rodgers had reconstructed his contract and re-established his relationship with the franchise. It turned the 2023 season of the quarterback into a void year. 

According to Sportac, the Packers owe Rodgers $26.4 million in 2022. Because of the void year, a trade could be possible this offseason. Rodgers has a year left in his contract. There is no final word on the situation of the quarterback next year. There were some rumors with the Titans, but they shut them down.
