Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are on a 4-game losing streak as they head into Week 9 of the NFL. Their last victory came almost a month ago, against a struggling New England Patriots. Since then, it has been a flurry of dismal performances. They’ve even lost to the Washington Commanders! And now, it seems there is more news to rub salt in their wounds. The Packers’ leading receiver, Allen Lazard, is still far from being game ready. And their next best receiver, Christian Watson, is still in concussion protocol.

Although both receivers were “limited participants” and “did not participate” in Thursday’s practice session, there has been no concrete confirmation that either would be starting on Sunday. Lazard suffered a shoulder injury against the Commanders in Week 7, while Watson’s concussion came in the first quarter against the Buffalo Bills.
Packers’ star QB Aaron Rodgers also suffered an injury in the London game against the New York Giants. He injured his right thumb while attempting a long pass in the dying moments of the game. Rodgers sat out Wednesday’s practice but was a “limited participant” in the Thursday practice session.

“I heard it was going to be just a jog-through, so I figured I might as well get down there and be around,” Rodgers said after the session. “I wish I could tell you it was feeling better, but it was more just the necessity of the jog-through and feeling like my presence down there was kind of more important today than an hour of rehab,” he added.
Will Aaron Rodgers and the Packers make a comeback this season?

As the Packers get set to face the Detroit Lions next week, the obvious question on everyone’s minds is, ‘Is there light at the end of this tunnel?’ And the answer may not be simple. The Packers traded their star receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders in the off-season, trading him for a first and second-round pick. And everyone, including Rodgers, was probably expecting to see the Packers pick two receivers.
Instead, the Packers took on two defensive players, leading to speculations about the Packers trying to build a rush-centred offense. But whatever they had planned, isn’t working at all. In fact, the Packers had another chance to get back on track, and all they had to do was trade in a receiver before the deadline. Even Rodgers was actively hoping for a receiver before the deadline day. But that did not happen either.

So in the end, with no promising receivers on their roster, it is impossible to speculate what the Packers can do to get themselves out of this mire. And with injuries in their receiver corps, their success against the Lions is also not a sure shot. Will the Packers find redemption this season? Or should they start biding their time and make a comeback next season?
