Aaron Rodgers has finally caught a break. After having a majorly underwhelming season, the quarterback looked in better spirits after the Packers’ victory over the Chicago Bears. Nothing tastes sweeter than defeating a divisional rival. But Rodgers was not the sole cause of their victory. After losing seven out of their last eight games prior to their bout against Chicago, the NFL world was hoping that the Packers wouldn’t hit rock bottom with another loss.

Thankfully, their offense stepped up. One receiver, in particular, received much-deserved praise from his quarterback. Christian Watson may have had a slow start to the season, but he is surely in top form at the moment.

Christian Watson made the end-zone his temporary home against the Chicago Bears. The receiver scored not one, but two touchdowns. The NFL world is not oblivious to Rodgers’ less-than-impressive season. Additionally, the Packers have had far from the best offensive strategy this season. But the growth Watson has shown on the field has taken everyone by surprise. The Packers Nation and their quarterback will definitely welcome this upward trajectory.

In a post-game conference, Rodgers was asked if performances like these from Watson would’ve benefitted the Packers early on in the season. Navigating a tricky question that could be blown out of proportion, the veteran provided praise for the receiver’s current performance instead. Rodgers stated that the receiver was playing really well. He also made a connection to former receiver Jeff Janis. The shot caller said, “I wouldn’t say the technique’s changed a lot but as a former receiver used to say with an odd catching style- results. He’s made a lot a lot of catches. He hasn’t dropped anything so it’s been good.”

Results. That’s what the Green Bay Packers have been pursuing. Currently, their record stands at a very sub-par 5-8. Postseason hopes are a long shot for the Green and Gold side. They currently stand behind the Vikings and the Lions in the NFC North. The question of Rodgers’ injuries also lingers at the back of everyone’s minds. The Packers have a long road ahead as they attempt to salvage what has been a forgettable season so far.
