Coach Mike McCarthy handed his old quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, a much-needed boost this season. Rodgers and his Packers ended their five-game losing streak as they beat their old head coach, Mike McCarthy, on his first trip back to Wisconsin since leaving the franchise in 2018. The Cowboys took to the game after their bye week, before which they won two on the trot.

In a solid showing, Aaron Rodgers threw 3 touchdowns as the Packers won the game in OT. However, a certain incident during the game showcased possible beef between Aaron Rodgers and his head coach Matt LaFleur.

A glimpse of classic Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers showed glimpses from his MVP season campaign last night as he led his Packers to a shocking win over the in-form Cowboys. The Packers were 3-6 and in desperate need of a victory. In a nail-biting finish, his team came out on top in OT as they won 31-28. Rodgers led his team’s comeback as he threw two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to tie the game. Rodgers put in a shift as he completed 70% of his passes without being intercepted. On his first time, playing against former boss McCarthy, he outclassed him.

However, all didn’t seem well when Rodgers made a final push to get the dub in regulation time. At 28 a piece, Rodgers threw an incomplete pass on third down and failed to get a first down as the clock ran out. Immediately as he went off the field, Rodgers, in his animated self, went off at head coach Matt LaFleur. While it wasn’t clear what went down between the two, it was clear that the QB had other plans to put the game to bed in regulation time.

As the former coach Mike McCarthy looked on from the sidelines, he would have had a déjà vu moment. He and Rodgers often got into similar incidents during their time together. While it was clear that LaFleur’s plans didn’t work at the end of the game, he would be grateful his team finished the game off in overtime.

Rodgers has never shied away from making himself heard. Even though he’s developed an image for himself, it hasn’t stopped him from being himself. Recently he even expressed having issues with the coaching staff of his Green Bay Packers team. This year has been the worst start to their season under Coach LaFleur’s leadership.

Post their loss to the Jets, Rodgers addressed the issues with the coaching unit. He felt an issue with executing plans post the game. “I just think that based on how we’ve played the last two weeks, I think it’s going to be in our best interests to simplify things for everybody,” said the experienced quarterback. This came shortly after Rodgers expressed his frustration with the lack of activity from the Packers during the trade window. He expected the management to rope in fresh faces to assist him in the O-line.

Rodgers could be a handful for a coaching unit, but he also brings enough to the table. His showing last night was just an example of that. As their season progresses, LaFleur and Rodgers will look to improvise their relations so the Packers can build on their recent win.
