On Saturday, Aaron Rodgers became the first quarterback in NFL history to record 3, 40+ touchdown seasons. With the pass in the endzone connecting with tight end Robert Tonyan in the first drive of the game, Aaron Rodgers etched his name in the NFL history books.
After the game, Rodgers, when asked about his accomplishment, said that it was good to get the record while Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is still in the early stages of his career.

Aaron Rodgers has enjoyed multiple successful seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Now, 38, Rodgers is in a league of his own with the new touchdown record under his belt.
Recording 40+ touchdown passes back in 2016 and 2011, 2020 is just another season where Rodgers has outdone opposition defenses. Talking after the game to the Athletic, Rodgers hinted that his record might not hold for long.
“Good to get that while Pat’s still young because I’m sure he’ll be bumping up that number pretty quick,” said Aaron Rodgers.
Mahomes and Rodgers are currently embroiled in an MVP battle of their own. Mahomes currently leads the league for passing yards this season. He also has 33 touchdowns to his name this season.
Rodgers, on the other hand, leads the league for touchdowns and has the least interceptions to his name. While the battle for MVP is still too close to call, Rodgers feels it’s only a matter of time before Mahomes usurps his touchdown record.

A tough day in the office
The Packers’ display against the Carolina Panthers wasn’t one that many have become accustomed to over the course of this season. After scoring 3 touchdowns in their first 3 possessions, the Packers’ offense failed to get going in the second half.
Thankfully, their defense pulled through and gave them the win heading into the final 2 games of the season. Packers’ running back Aaron Jones, however, recorded yet another stellar night, racking up a tally of 145 rushing yards, Jones scored a touchdown in the first half.
