The Buccaneers registered their Week 5 win on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. Although it seemed like an effortless drive for Tom Brady and Co until the third quarter, it all changed before the final minutes of the game. Former Colts punt Pat McAfee analyzed Brady’s one-on-one with Grady Jarrett and lashed the referee, who called for unnecessary roughness.

A win was quite essential for the Buccaneers to get out of the slump they have been facing at home for the past two weeks. Although the Falcons’ game turned out to be a win for Tom Brady, it drew several controversies. Until the third quarter, Brady was in the front seat. But in the final phase, Marcus Mariota made a surreal comeback with a drive that instantly put 15 points on the scorecard.

The rally could have eventually led the Falcons to a win but refs called Grady Jarrett for roughing the passer and turned his sack into a penalty. Many furious fans got NFL Referee, Jeremy Boger, who called for the penalty, under the radar.
After the game, reporter Greg Auman asked him the reason behind that call which clearly seemed like a sack, but he flagged it for a penalty. “What I had was the defender grabbed the quarterback while he was still in the pocket, and unnecessarily throwing him to the ground,” Boger said, according to the report.
“That is what I was making my decision based upon,” he added. Well, Boger happens to be the same referee who faced the ire of fans after giving a similar penalty in the Bills vs Ravens game. It eventually aided the Josh Allen-led side in a crucial win.
Here’s how Pat McAfee reacted to Tom Brady’s win
There is no doubt that the Falcons’ offense got outplayed by Brady’s defense which sacked Mariota five times in the game. However, a wrong penalty cost them the entire win. Despite winning the game, people are projecting the Buccaneers’ victory as a favor from the referees.

Pat McAfee through his popular show claimed that Jarrett went easy on the veteran despite having a wide open area. “There ain’t nothing else Grady Jarrett could have done here. This is a perfectly executed tackle.” the former Punt said. ” He could have gone a lot harder with how wide open it was. He kind of took it easy on Tom. Tom went out publicly and said ‘I don’t throw the flags’. He didn’t think it was a call, we got the win. Let’s move on.”

“But if you’re the Falcons, Grady Jarrett and everybody else over there. You have to be fucking furious,” he added. Anyways, in the end, a win is a win. With this game, the Falcons have gone down 2-3, and the Buccaneers improved to 3-2.
