He expressed deep regrets and acknowledged the mistakes he made during the last Super Bowl.

Jason Kelce has been playing for the Philadelphia Eagles since his draft in 2011. Losing the Super Bowl was incredibly painful and caused a lot of emotional distress to Jason.

In a podcast named ‘Green Light’, his team’s former defensive end, Chris Long, interviewed Jason Kelce and Jason was very transparent. He certainly expressed his regrets, even though he was very happy for his brother, Travis Kelce, on winning the Super Bowl. However, He was unhappy with the result and said, “There’s still a level of happiness for your brother, but obviously and overwhelmingly the feeling is negative,” in the interview. But he especially felt bad for Jalen Hurts, the quarterback of the Eagles.

Jason added that he felt very regretful for Jalen, as he wasn’t able to earn his first ring. Jalen Hurts is undoubtedly one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL right now. Jason admired Jalen’s offensive play in the final. He felt sorry because they were able to come a long way to the final, but ultimately failed. He also added that the championship game was definitely different from the usual ones as both the teams were going head to head for the first two rounds.

Jason’s future with the Eagles

Jason regrets his decisions the most, as he claimed that he fell for the trap Patrick Mahomes had set for him. He went through the five stages of grief after their loss. He claimed that he was in denial and believed that he could have done more for the team. But the uncertainty in the match was very high, as both of the teams had three possessions in the first and second rounds. He said in the interview, “It was one of those games where it felt like whoever had the ball last was gonna win” and added that the Chiefs had the last ball.

To sum it up, Jason has been a very valuable player for the Eagles for a long, long time, but he isn’t as fit as before. After his retirement topic was brought up in the interview, he shared his medical conditions with his ankle and hips. He further clarified that this game always has the possibility of injuries, so he is very worried about that. Also, he added that he is not sure yet if he will retire anytime soon, but the thought definitely crossed his mind.
