Aaron Rodgers isn’t done facing multiple roadblocks. The Bills‘ QB is undoubtedly haunted by ‘ Rodgers’ victory, and this has nothing to do with the football gridiron. Amidst A-Rod’s transfer rumors in February, the 4x MVP crossed off an item from the bucket list after dominating the golf course, while pitted against pros all over the industry. But this is also the place where he faced a divisional rival, Josh Allen.
New York Jets‘ newly signed QB partnered with Canada’s Ben Silverman, and together, they won the Pro-Am competition by one stroke, scoring an impressive 26 under 189 total. What looked like a breathtaking win for the 4x MVP, as Rodgers celebrated it on his ninth attempt, is now being contested. Almost five months later, Allen, known for his playoff theatrics, expressed his discontent with the tournament and labeled the 4x MVP as a cheater.

Even at the time of Aaron Rodgers’ victory, there were controversies surrounding his suspiciously high handicap of 10, which meant he was given 10 strokes each round. Rodgers claimed to have played only one round since his last training camp, but even Josh’s pro teammate golfer, Keith Mitchell, scoffed at that statement, saying, “Aaron Rodgers doesn’t count. His handicap was crap.”

Josh appeared on the “Pardon My Take” podcast, where the event in question was brought up. One of the co-hosts asked if Rodgers had cheated, to which the Bills’ man replies, “He did.” He mentioned that even though he still loves Aaron, there is no doubt about him cheating.
Another question came up about whether Rodgers had sandbagged him, and Josh responded, “Not just me, the world,” emphasizing his belief. When asked about what Rodgers had done, Josh hinted at the controversial handicap, saying, “He may have gotten just seven or eight strokes too many… or nine.” He claimed that other sources think the same.
This is not just it. When one of the co-hosts joked that Rodgers should be in jail, Josh seemed to agree, adding, “I would say a lot of the golfers may be thought that too.” Since the incident at Pebble Beach, the duo appeared in another golf tournament together, only last month. Well, their meeting twice during the regular season seemingly paves the way for back-and-forth jabs.

The QBs met each other once more at the green
Despite uncertainties surrounding Rodgers’ win back in February, his impressive performance last month sent shockwaves throughout the NFL community. The celebratory golf tournament, held at Tahoe Golf Resort in State Line, Nevada, was star-studded with over 100 athletes from all over the country. Many NFL players competed on the green, with none other than the Jets’ star QB coming out on top among them. He secured the fifth overall place in the tourney, while Josh and Patrick Mahomes struggled to make the top 30. Stephen Curry claimed the first overall position, having come in fourth multiple times in the past.
Putting aside the golf drama between the QBs, they will soon face each other on the football field, taking their rivalry to the next level. Whether Allen makes it to the conference championship this year or Rodgers leads his team to become Super Bowl contenders, the matter should better be settled on the gridiron!
