Athletes are always drawn to criticism for the slightest mishaps, and it’s no exception for Patrick Mahomes. The star quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs signed a 10-year extension worth $450 million with the team, but never limited himself to one sport. After a dominating win last season, Mahomes spent the offseason honing his skills in golf with his football buddy Travis Kelce.

After months of practicing in their free time, the Chiefs dominated the golf court while facing NBA legend, Stephen Curry. As the training camp draws near, the 2x MVP gave golf another go, standing among 90 other participants. However, it might not have gone as planned for the NFL star, after crossing paths with an insolent dad, arguing for an autograph.

This year’s annual celebratory golf tournament took place at the usual spot, Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Nevada. The event saw a crowd of athletes, including Mahomes and Steph Curry, gracing it last week. After a disappointing 51st-place finish last year, the star QB was eager for a chance to win. However, the event’s bustling atmosphere made it uncomfortable for the athletes to attend to their desires, which led to a brief altercation between Mahomes and a father.

In a video shared on Twitter, a kid from the crowd asked Mahomes to sign his jersey. No. 15 politely declined the request, as it would mean signing for other audiences as well, breaking his concentration from the game. He was even seen planning his next shot with a golf club at that time. However, the father of the kid immediately starts arguing with Mahomes about why he should sign the jersey.

And the father’s argument was to make that one kid happy, which didn’t sit well with the NFL star. The father can be heard saying, “You can just make one kid happy out of a hundred” prompting a response from Mahomes, “I’ll make 99 sad,” in a respectful manner.

Aaron Rodgers came on top of all NFL athletes

This year’s highly anticipated tournament surpassed all expectations, with NBA legend Stephen Curry taking the crown and clinching the first spot. It was a significant achievement for Curry, considering his past failures at the event. Last year, he landed in 16th place and had multiple fourth-place finishes.

Among all the NFL athletes participating, the Jets QB secured the impressive 5th spot on the leaderboard, ahead of Mahomes, Josh Allen, Derek Carr, and all the other NFL athletes. While it wasn’t the top spot among all athletes, Rodgers still made remarkable progress reaching the 5th position.
