$230 million Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson will be looking to play the whole season for the Browns in the 2023 campaign. Despite his 11-game suspension in 2022 because of off-field issues, Watson had 1,102 passing yards and seven touchdowns in six games. The 27-year-old QB has been considered one of the greatest players currently in the league while playing for the Houston Texans. And amidst the rough patch last season, Deshaun Watson will be looking to prove his naysayers and critics wrong in signing him off as an elite QB.
While the league’s new season is still a few days away, Deshaun Watson is using his offseason to engage in other interests like the rest of the NFL players. And recently, one of those interests in golf left to him paying a heartwarming tribute to a 23-year-old historical memory of a $1 billion golf legend.

The Cleveland Browns QB shared a few stories on Instagram that indicate that he is in attendance for the Kaulig Companies Championship in the Firestone Country Club. In one of his Instagram stories, he shared memorabilia of Tiger Woods that is established on the golf course. The memorabilia is to commemorate Woods’ historic moment at that place 23 years ago on August 27, 2000. Why is historic? Well, because Tiger Woods played his iconic ‘Shot in the Dark’ swing at that same place, which was an iconic swing by Woods at night, which led to him winning the 2000 NEC Invitational.

A miraculous play by the golf legend
Back in 2000, Tiger Woods and Hal Sutton finished the final round of the NEC Invitational late at night around 8:30 PM. This was because of delays that took place due to severe weather conditions. Woods was 168 yards away from the pin, as he stood at the 18th hole, with fans hardly getting a visual because of the darkness. He then hit an 8-iron shot, which led to the ball landing just past the flagstick and then spinning back to within two feet. Fans cheered after that historic shot, as it also led to Tiger Woods’ eighth title in 2000.
