The Denver Broncos had a bad season in 2022 and they’re looking to make it better in the upcoming season. At the forefront remains their infamous quarterback, Russell Wilson, as well as their new coach Sean Payton. The team has been looking to make their organization one that is geared more towards success and even a lot of their offseason trades and acquisitions have been pointing in an improved direction. However, there might be a small hiccup with Wilson and his surgery.
While Wilson has been making a certain type of declarations on Instagram amidst his surgery, he took to the social media platform once more. While last time he had had a slightly more positive message, his most recent one was a bit more cryptic. It makes one wonder how the surgery went as well as what goes behind closed doors with a new coach coming in.

Wilson recently went through arthroscopic surgery on his right knee after his 2022 season. The knee had been bothering him for a few seasons and it was long overdue. Apparently, the surgery was termed a minor clean-up. However, a few days after his surgery, Wilson took to Instagram to share a reel with a cryptic, albeit spiritual message. The reel said, “Don’t you know that God is not through with you yet? Don’t you know God has more for you? Don’t you know you’re going to lend and not borrow? You’re the head and not the tail.”

While the message itself would not raise any eyebrows, the timing of it makes it slightly concerning. As he is coming off a bad season, Wilson has high expectations of himself. Furthermore, he has two huge reasons to perform well. It has to do with the fact that there is a new sheriff in town in terms of coaching.

No personal coach for Wilson?
While Wilson is dealing with his knee issues, the Broncos have made some interesting changes. They fired Nathan Hackett and brought in Sean Payton as head coach. After he got appointed HC, Payton made it clear that the Broncos will be taking a more team-centered approach instead of a star-centered approach. He reportedly has said that players won’t be allowed to have personal coaches, even though Wilson works with his own. Furthermore, the Broncos QB is now under pressure to adjust to new coaching and make his upcoming season better than the one before. On top of all of this, the surgery on his knee has become another factor he might have to adjust for in the upcoming season.
While he might have some valid reasons to be cryptic on Instagram, no official information has come through yet. It only remains to be seen if the Broncos QB shares some earth-shattering news in the coming days.
