It is going to be an unrealistic moment for Jalen Hurts to represent the Eagles in his first-ever Super Bowl appearance. All credit goes to his storied college career and his father, who had unwavering faith in his son’s abilities. Ahead of the big day, his father, Averion Hurts Sr, spoke about the quarterback’s passion for the game and his transition from Alabama to Oklahoma, breaking several records in the journey.

The 24-year-old gunslinger boasts a phenomenal college career enlisting his name as a Heisman Trophy finalist. He spent the first three seasons at Alabama with the Crimson Tide and later relocated to Oklahoma. The proud father recalls meeting a grown man ready to conquer the world.

While speaking on the Paul Finebaum Show, the quarterback’s father detailed the entire journey from being an amateur to a world-class athlete. “I always felt like God had him on this journey, and nothing we could do was going to change it,” Hurts Sr. said, per a media outlet.

“He had three great years at Alabama — had some great people. He learned a lot., he grew up. I dropped a 17-year-old boy off in January, and when I came back, he was a grown man.”

“Everything leads up to it. When you know how hard he works and how diligent he is at his craft, I always tell people, I don’t bet against him because I understand how he approaches it. I told coach (Nick) Saban when I dropped him off, and I told coach (Lincoln) Riley when I dropped him off when he went there.”.
