The future is still a mystery for Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson. After long 18 months of negotiations, the Ravens and Jackson still have not created a common ground for a long-term contract for the 2019 MVP. The team had placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on the player, allowing him to negotiate with other interested teams. But franchises have stepped back from negotiation with the QB for a possible offer sheet.

While Lamar Jackson still figures out where he’ll be for the new season of the NFL, he recently shared an Instagram story that contained words of motivation. Considering the situation the QB is in at the present moment, Jackson is trying to stay motivated even in the midst of all the uncertainty that surrounds his career in the NFL.

The story posted by Jackson states, “Go ahead and take a break from socializing while you’re working on yourself, your career and your life. You’re not missing out on anything; it will all be there when you’re done.” It seems that Jackson is trying to figure out his own career amidst all the controversy around his contract.

With the NFL draft just around the corner, will the Ravens strike a deal with Jackson? Or will another team that will fulfill his contract requirements sign the QB?

What does the NFL have in store for Jackson?

NFL insider Rich Eisen feels that the Indianapolis Colts are one of the top prospects where the 2019 MVP QB could be heading for the 2023 season. The Colts have a fourth overall pick in the draft, so the question that remains is whether HC Shane Steichen is willing to take the risk by considering the possibility of acquiring Jackson.

Furthermore, reports suggest that Jackson might stay with the Ravens, considering that the franchise signs two players in which he has a keen interest. One is Odell Beckham Jr, who the Ravens have already signed a one-year deal worth up to $18 million. The other player is WR DeAndre Hopkins of the Arizona Cardinals. Jackson said that if these two players join the Ravens, then he will have a talk about being on the team.4

While the possibility of keeping all three players in the team looks difficult for the Ravens at the moment considering their salary cap, fans will be still waiting in excitement to see how this final chapter in the Jackson saga comes to its conclusive end.
