Gisele Bündchen divorced Tom Brady late last year after he came out of retirement to play another NFL season. She has always dubbed the NFL as a violent sport. The supermodel’s worst nightmare has come true about the violence in the sport. And it comes just days after Brady retired from pro football for the second time.

Football is the epitome of team contact sports with constant threat of serious injuries. And the NFL’s new stats just prove Bündchen’s fears to be true.

The NFL has come out with concussion stats for the 2022 regular season and things aren’t rosy. According to ESPN’s Kevin Seifert, the NFL acknowledged the number of concussions shot up significantly during the recently concluded regular season of the league.

The data suggest that the players went through concussion 149 times in 271 games this season. These numbers are up 18% from last season when the league saw 126 concussion injuries. It is also higher than the three-year average of 130 between 2018 and 2020.

The report proves the worst nightmare of supermodel Gisele Bündchen true as she has publicly taken a stand on the issue.

“I just have to say, as a wife, I’m little bit like as you know, it’s not the most… ummm. He (Tom Brady) had concussions last year. I mean he has concussions; we don’t talk about it but he does have concussions. And I don’t think it’s a healthy thing for anybody to go through, you know, that kind of aggression all the time. It can’t be healthy for you,” Bündchen told Charlie Rose of CBS in 2017.

And yes, concussions are a part of a violent sport like football. But even after the NFL trying to take care of player injuries, incidents like the Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion still happen.  And the NFL proved Bündchen right just days after her ex-husband Tom Brady retired from the league.
