Gisele Bündchen is no stranger to combat sports. Over the years, she has tried her hand at sports like boxing and Kung Fu. Apart from that, she also showed her skills in Jiu-Jitsu earlier this year. And she was so good at it that her then-husband Tom Brady seemed a bit scared.

As far as self-defense goes, Bündchen has left no stone unturned.

Gisele Bündchen showed off her Jiu-Jitsu skills

In February 2022, when Tom Brady was still in retirement, Gisele Bündchen locked horns with the Valente brothers in Florida. The Valente brothers are experts in Jiu-Jitsu, a form of martial arts originating from Bündchen’s native Brazil. So, it was no surprise when she looked at home with the martial arts form.

She shared a video from the martial arts session and said she has grown in confidence since she has taken up self-defense.

“I believe the more tools we have in our toolbox the better. I feel stronger, more confidence, and empowered since I started practicing self-defense. I feel it’s an important skill for all, but specially for us women,” she wrote in the tweet along with the video.

And Brady took her seriously that time, seeing her mad MMA skills as she took down a man twice her size. He said that his days of leaving the plate in the sink are numbered.

Brady and Bündchen’s divorce

Brady might have taken his wife seriously watching her Jiu-Jitsu skills at that point, but the couple soon fought over differences in priorities in life. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers star was retired from the NFL at the time when Bündchen was dabbling with martial arts. But he soon decided that retirement wasn’t for him and announced his decision to return to the field.

This decision proved very costly for Brady as Bündchen didn’t approve of it. Bündchen was reportedly not happy with this decision as she thought Brady was prioritizing his NFL career over his family. In the end, the couple decided to part ways and chart their separate paths in life.

The ex-couple has decided to have joint custody of their two younger children,12-year-old Benjamin, and nine-year-old Vivian.

Amid all this, Brady and the Bucs are struggling on the field. The team has lost three straight games and has a 3-5 record after eight games. They are second on the NFC South divisional table behind the 4-4 Atlanta Falcons. Bündchen will now be based in Miami and, who knows, she might one day actually decide to join the UFC.
