Rob Gronkowski has been a busy man after his retirement from the league. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end has been having the time of his life, engaging in different pursuits of his interest. But, the former Super Bowl champion has also been doing his bit for the community. In partnership with USAA, Gronk had the NFL world nearly teary-eyed.

In celebration of its 100-year anniversary of serving the military community, USAA has been gifting vehicles throughout the year. This initiative is called ‘Recycled Rides’. And what better way to deliver these vehicles to these veterans than by enlisting the help of Rob Gronkowski?

Gronk surprised a retired military veteran with a very wholesome gift. Jonny Flores, a purple heart recipient, was hit by an IED while serving in Iraq. In his partnership with the USAA, Gronk presented Flores with a retrofitted truck that was modified to his specific needs. For starters, the truck included a wheelchair lift to help with the veteran’s mobility.

Gronkowski took to Instagram and posted the video of surprising Specialist Jonny Flores. An excerpt from his caption reads “It was my honor to join USAA to gift this beauty to US Army Veteran Jonny Flores. To Jonny and all our military at home & abroad, thank you for your service!” The USAA has gifted about a hundred or more vehicles this year to deserving veterans.
