The Denver Broncos are undergoing a major overhaul this offseason following a disappointing 2022 campaign. Despite acquiring Russell Wilson in a blockbuster trade last season, the star quarterback has yet to win over Broncos fans. The team has also brought on a new coaching staff, and with fresh minds at the helm, there is potential for new strategies to be implemented in the upcoming 2023 season.

Unfortunately, the team suffered another setback when running back Javonte Williams sustained a serious knee injury five months ago. This has weakened the team on the field, prompting fans to call for the signing of free agent Ezekiel Elliott to fill the gap left by Williams. Despite these challenges, the Broncos remain determined to bounce back and come back stronger next season.

The Broncos GM George Paton cashed out heavily on the first day of the free agency period. They signed deals with 5 players from other teams including in-house free-agent linebacker Alex Singleton.

In a bid to build upon the dismal last season’s performance by the team and star signing Russell Wilson, the team also invested in backup QB Jarrett Stidham in case Wilson’s performance does not improve.

The fans, as expected, had a lot to say about these decisions, and are eagerly waiting to see how the new additions will impact the team’s performance.

Apart from these signings, Ezekiel Elliott remains a fan favorite as the Dallas Cowboys released him after spending seven seasons with them. Fans have been vocal about the possible acquisition of Elliot for the Broncos in a bid to bolster the team further.

The Broncos suffered a setback in the RB position after Javonte Williams tore both his ACL and LCL last fall. While he has been recently on his road to recovery, the team cannot expect him to be ready for the Broncos’ opening games in the upcoming season. The way the Broncos are on an acquisition spree on the first day of the free agency itself, the possibility of Ezekiel Elliott joining that list is not a far-fetched idea.

A new journey for the Broncos

The team is doing its best to capitalize on a disappointing performance last season. With new signings coming into the light for the Broncos, we might see a different roster take on the field in the upcoming 2023 season.
