Now, the Seahawks QB came forward with an interview with an NFL insider and shared his motivation under tremendous pressure.

Smith’s transformation was attributed to various factors, notably his newfound fatherhood and entry into his thirties. These significant life events compelled him to mature and alter his mindset to approach challenges with an optimistic perspective.

Geno Smith’s message on the occasion of ‘Mental Health Matters’ (mental health awareness month)- “I think mental health is very important to everybody, not just athletes, but to the entire world. Obviously, there’s a ton of stress, that everyone’s under and people cope with them in many different ways and so I think the more that we can just talk about it, shed light on mental health, I think it creates a safe place for people where they feel like they can vulnerable and can express themselves so that they can get better.”

Geno admits people’s curiosity about his mental well-being during that time lingers. Geno believes that self-awareness and gratitude are paramount, instilled in him by his wise grandmother, forming the crux of his perspective. “I’ve always been grateful. My grandmother always taught me that to be grateful for what you have. I think that’s really what it comes down to.”

Eventually, he realized dwelling on negativity only harmed his mental well-being. Instead, he adopted a different mindset, shifting focus from the obstacle itself to his response, understanding its true significance. “So, what I chose to do was I chose to flip it. I said, ‘You know what? It’s not about the obstacle, it’s about how I respond to it.’”
