Pete Carroll sat on his show at 710 ESPN Seattle to talk about the Seahawks and their success. He gave some insight into the QB and offensive production, which was the biggest surprise this year. Carroll appreciated Geno Smith for wearing a wristband with plays written on it to relay it to his teammates. The HC could not do it in the past, citing resistance as the issue.

Pete Carroll mentioned, “If you notice, Geno’s going off the wristband, and that’s a big help. It’s smoothed things out, sped things up, cleaned things up. And that’s part of it, too. We never did that before. There was resistance to that, so we didn’t do that before.”

Pete Carroll did not provide details on the origin of the pushback. He didn’t have to because the apparent allusion is toward Russell Wilson. Unlike Geno Smith, the former Seattle QB1 preferred authority over offensive play calling over guidance from the sidelines.

When asked about the comments on Wednesday, The Asterisk said he does not know what Carroll said. But he clarified they won games despite him not wearing a wristband. Robot Russell added he did not know if the outcome depended on whether the quarterback wore a wristband.
