The Seahawks had a revamp after substantial trade-offs and cuts. The 12s had trouble thinking of the franchise’s future without Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner. But it looks like the franchise is doing better than ever with Geno Smith holding the fort. Pete Carroll is also happy with the QB and can do things he could not do in the past.

Pete Carroll sat on his show at 710 ESPN Seattle to talk about the Seahawks and their success. He gave some insight into the QB and offensive production, which was the biggest surprise this year. Carroll appreciated Geno Smith for wearing a wristband with plays written on it to relay it to his teammates. The HC could not do it in the past, citing resistance as the issue.

Geno Smith makes Pete Carroll happy!

Pete Carroll mentioned, “If you notice, Geno’s going off the wristband, and that’s a big help. It’s smoothed things out, sped things up, cleaned things up. And that’s part of it, too. We never did that before. There was resistance to that, so we didn’t do that before.”

Pete Carroll did not provide details on the origin of the pushback. He didn’t have to because the apparent allusion is toward Russell Wilson. Unlike Geno Smith, the former Seattle QB1 preferred authority over offensive play calling over guidance from the sidelines.

Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll had an extraordinary ride in the past, which holds a Super Bowl-winning run. However, tensions clogged the franchise front and the former QB1, which opened the blockbuster trade with the Denver Broncos in the offseason.

Russell Wilson expressed thoughts over Pete Carroll’s comments

Despite the Seahawks being the toppers of their division and moving past the DangeRuss era, the HC cannot stop taking shots at the former franchise quarterback. Carroll’s wristband comments came to Wilson’s knowledge during a press conference. The Broncos QB1 did not lash out at his former coach but had a simple yet bold response to it.
