From Education to Wellness- Tyreek Hill’s Hand in Budding ‘Mini Cheetahs’

7x Pro Bowler and possibly the fastest football player, Tyreek Hill well deserves the title of “Cheetah”. The Miami Dolphins WR is on a mission to ensure that no child is left behind. Through his family foundation, Tyreek is transforming the lives of children across America and is doing his part in giving back to society in a big way.

In an Instagram story shared by Will Foster, the Cheetah was spotted gifting a jersey to a child, surrounded by other children. Another post shared jointly by the Dolphins and Hill showed the kid running in the jersey and was captioned, “@cheetah just had to meet this mini cheetah 🤝🐆”. In fact, this is what his family foundation stands for, empowering individuals for a brighter future through education and wellness.

Empowering children with the tools to build their own future

Established in 2018, the Cheetah Scholarship Fund has enabled underprivileged, talented students to get access to higher education. Hill has vowed to donate $5,000 towards the Cheetah Scholars program every time he scores a touchdown in the NFL season. Every year, 10 students win the scholarship in honor of the Wide Receiver’s jersey number.

Besides academic education, Tyreek also mentors young athletes during his off days or by partnering with the Boys & Girls Club. It is his stated goal to help students figure out life’s lessons beyond the classroom, such as overcoming adversity or fulfilling a commitment.

Ensuring all-round development through wellness programs

Needless to say, the Cheetah is also passionate about fitness and his foundation helps teach the fundamentals of football at an affordable cost. During the offseason, he also participates in free youth football camps to teach students first-hand. Apart from physical fitness, mental health is also another aspect the Foundation is working towards. Tyreek and the foundation encourage conversations about mental health and help end the surrounding stigma.

Addressing deeper and systemic issues, the Tyreek Hill Family Foundation also works towards homelessness and hunger. They accomplish this by providing food to children and a safe place to call home. During Thanksgiving, these children often feel left out while families around America gather around their tables for Thanksgiving Dinner. To combat this, their Thanksgiving Turkey Drive distributes turkeys to those who need them. 

The Tyreek Hill Family Foundation has helped make a positive impact on the lives of thousands of children. No matter which team we are supporting this season, we will be rooting for the Cheetah to score maximum touchdowns.
