The 23-year-old gunslinger had to stay away from the league for a while after he incurred an injury in the preseason. Later on, he underwent surgery in August and spent time healing his wounds and recovering from the initial jitters.
Meanwhile, he surprised the fans with his electric return in Week 4 and won a crucial game for the team to get back on track. His mother, Lisa, was more than happy to see her son making the season debut and shared pics on Instagram for her social media fans.
“It will be fun they said. Then why do I feel like throwing up,” Lisa captioned a photo of herself. Wilson crafted two great plays, one in the second quarter receiving a touchdown pass from WR Braxton Berrios on a trick play.
The next came up in the fourth quarter when the side was trailing, and the signal-callers last-minute 5-for-5 final drive for 57 yards made all the difference and helped the Jets get back on the front seat. Wearing a Jets jersey, Lisa was cheering for her son from home. “Well, that was fun, said no mother of a quarterback ever,” Lisa said about her emotions.
