With most free agents already off the market, only a handful remain, anxiously awaiting their signing. The ruthless quarterback from the Philadelphia Eagles, Carson Wentz, hasn’t had a stroke of very good luck in the past two seasons. After his disastrous performance in 2020, he was first benched and then transferred from the team. After his moderate performance last year for the Commanders, there has been a noticeable absence of any signing news.
The free agent appears to be savoring the offseason with his family, and his Instagram feed is filled with delightful glimpses into these joyful moments. However, his recent picture has ignited a significant uproar online, provoking an intense backlash from countless animal lovers.

The Super Bowl champ stirred controversy among fans with a series of pictures he posted on Friday. These pictures showcase his hunting expedition in Alaska. The free agent had posted the photo with the caption, “Bucket List,” with a checkmark emoji right after, exemplifying the fulfillment of a long-awaited bucket list achievement. The caption further reads, “Got the opportunity to spot and stalk black bear in one of our new favorite places on earth— Alaska!” It showcases how Carson spotted and stalked the animal in Alaska before hunting it down.
The Super Bowl champ concluded the caption by adding, “Incredible trip and an incredible animal! 🙌🏻,” attempting to justify his hunting endeavor as a personal triumph. Nevertheless, the fans remained divided in their opinions.
Carson is a Christian and claims to love animals
Carson and his brother, Zach, maintain an Instagram page dedicated to showcasing their outdoor pursuits, focusing primarily on their hunting adventures. The brothers have put ‘Dog lovers‘ in their bio and Carson himself had posted several photos with the dogs they own. They can also be spotted in numerous pictures, delighting in the beauty of nature, and even posing with wild ducks in some of the posts.
The majority of the fans did not seem to like Carson’s recent photo, and they wasted no time before sharing their opinion in the comment section. One of the users ridiculed him for killing the god’s creation while claiming to be Christ’s follower, and wrote, “‘christ follower’ yet ur killing his création for sport 👎”
Another user wrote, “Killing animals for sport isn’t very Jesus-like.”
A user by the name @Joymo17_ was also baffled at the fact that Carson killed the animal he thinks is incredible, and added, “Incredible animal so you kill it?? Makes sense.”

Although Carson has been thrashed online for the hunt, it’s legal in Alaska. As an avid hunter, he has been known to share multiple hunting-related photos, including a recent snapshot where he posed behind a deer he had hunted. As of now, the free agent has refrained from making any public comments regarding the situation. Only time will tell how he chooses to address the criticism and navigate this unfolding situation.
