The legendary era came to an end on February 1, 2023. It marked an emotional day for the entire NFL as Tom Brady announced his retirement. After an incredible career spanning 23 seasons with the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady shared his decision through a heartfelt video.

Initially retiring on February 1, 2022, after 22 seasons with the Buccaneers, Brady later reversed his decision six weeks later, citing “unfinished business.” However, upon his official retirement this year, many individuals, including the two biggest assets of Brady, came forward to extend their emotional support to the NFL legend.

Proud moment for parents

Two weeks after his retirement, on an episode of the “Let’s Go!” podcast, Brady received a warm outpouring of retirement congratulations from everyone, including his mother Galynn Brady, and his father Tom Brady Sr., who joined him as guests that day. Reflecting on her son’s career, Galynn Brady likened it to immersing oneself in an exceptional book, saying, “It’s been a joy.” In the morning, she reflected on his entire career, drawing a comparison to reading an exceptional book. She expressed, “…it’s kind of like when you read a really, really good book. You know, each chapter is different. One chapter, you cry. The next chapter, you’re laughing. And then you come to the last few pages and it’s like, I don’t want this book to end.

She added, “Tommy’s career has been a really, really great story. Our family has been so blessed with his career and watching him play football and the excitement, and it’s kept our family so close together.” She went on to express that while they are happy, there is also a sense of sadness accompanying his retirement. She cherished watching him run on the field, his contagious enthusiasm, and his spirited cries of ‘Let’s go!‘ Brady Sr. also conveyed his deep pride for his son, Brady. In addition to his parents, numerous celebrities and public figures joined to pay tribute to the NFL legend.

An emotional tribute to the legend!

In addition to his parents, Brady’s worldwide recognition led to tributes from various notable figures, including Oprah Winfrey, Patrick Mahomes, David Beckham, and Serena Williams, among many others. Oprah Winfrey, for instance, expressed her understanding of leaving behind something that goes beyond mere passion, job, work, or even a career. She acknowledged that it was Brady’s life, and she comprehends the courage it takes to walk away from such a significant part of it.

Mahomes, in response to Brady’s Instagram post, paid tribute by sharing a goat emoji, acknowledging him as the unrivaled ‘Greatest of All Time.’ Former England captain David Beckham promptly displayed his appreciation for Brady’s career with a heart emoji. Tennis legend Serena Williams, who also retired this year, expressed her emotions upon hearing about Brady’s retirement, admitting to getting teary-eyed and feeling a sense of sadness as he departed.
