Among all the quarterback headlines this NFL offseason, the one draining everyone’s attention hasn’t been for a playing passer. Instead, it has all been about retired NFL icon Tom Brady and his potential comeback to the big stage. Four months after his emotional retirement, fans and experts continue to draw up scenarios that could lure the 7x Super Bowl champion back in the pocket. And time and again, Brady has come and squashed those rumors. While TB12’s reasoning bordered on non-football factors in the past, this time Brady laid out an on-field regret that has dissuaded him from even considering returning to the game.
With Brady stepping into Raiders’ ownership, Jimmy Garoppolo’s injury made the path for a Brady comeback clear. However, appearing in a one-on-one interview with NFL broadcaster Rich Eisen, Tom Brady may have finally shut the door on a return with a valid enough reason to upset his diehard fans.

Being the most feared quarterback on the NFL stage for over two decades comes with its fair share of drawbacks. Namely, the feared pass rushers of the rival franchises who have made pocket management Brady’s biggest misery during his passing days for the NE Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On being asked by Eisen if he was contemplating suiting up for the 2023 season, Brady laid out the blunt truth.
“The actual playing part? I’m definitely tired of getting hit. Probably my least favorite record is the amount of sacks that I’ve taken in my career,” the 5x Super Bowl MVP said with a smile.
Besides owning almost every major record in the quarterback books in wins, career passing attempts, career passing TDs, passing yards, and Lombardi count, Brady’s longevity has also put him on the top of negative ranking lists.

TB12 holds the record for being sacked the most times in the NFL among all active quarterbacks. His 565 sack number leads second-placed Aaron Rodgers’ 530. And Brady doesn’t want to get hit anymore.
The cats and the kids are still a factor as well
Two months ago, Tom Brady was in the headlines for a potential return to the NFL as the quarterback of the Miami Dolphins. However, Brady discounted the rumors with a simple tweet. “Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a 2-month-old kitten for their daughter,” he wrote. And there are more cats coming, according to his latest interview. “I’m getting to move on to some other things that you know I’m enjoying and obviously being a dad and taking care of a cat. And I think we have more cats on the way, unfortunately,” TB12 said.
