Colin Kaepernick‘s philanthropic efforts show no signs of slowing down. Despite facing backlash from the NFL while advocating for black rights during his time as the 49ers QB, Kaepernick remains resolute and is putting his financial resources to meaningful use.

Beyond his achievements on the football field, Kaepernick has continued to make an impact through various ventures. He authored and edited books, secured major endorsement deals with Ben & Jerry’s and Nike, and is now venturing into the virtual world this October. Remarkably, even 1500 days before his virtual debut, Kap donated what he promised.

The man who kickstarted a new age of athlete activism has fulfilled his promise to donate $1 million of his salary to community organizations. Back in September 2016, Kaepernick made a million-dollar pledge to support oppressed communities. He allocated the funds to charities across the country, addressing a wide range of social issues such as homelessness, education, community-police relations, criminal justice reform, inmates’ rights, at-risk families, and reproductive rights.

According to Forbes, in total, the QB’s philanthropic efforts extended to 41 different charities. Additionally, he made a significant contribution by sending food aid to Somalia. Hosting a “Know Your Rights” camp in Chicago further showcased his dedication to empowering communities. With $100,000 still remaining for donation, he creatively distributed $10,000 per day for 10 days, inspiring matching donations from various sports stars and celebrities.

With the completion of this pledge, the 35-year-old is elated to achieve the dream, and he joyfully shared on his Twitter. Now, he eagerly awaits the release of his upcoming arcade game in October.

Kap teases his fans with a brand new adventure!

Kap’s latest project is set to make its way into American households. Saber Interactive and the NFLPA are fulfilling their promise to produce a football game outside Electronic Arts’ Madden NFL series, and the virtual game, “Wild Card Football,” is scheduled for release on October 10. The game features former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Notably, over 100 athletes, including Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Jefferson, T.J. Watt, Joey Bosa, Ja’Marr Chase, Aaron Donald, and more, have been confirmed for the game. Excitingly, Wild Card Football will be available on various platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, Windows PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), and Xbox One. Although Kap’s million-dollar pledge has already been fulfilled, all eyes will now be on his new game and its impact on online users and his fans.
