Aaron Rodgers is known for boldly voicing his strong opinions. On numerous occasions, the sports world has been at odds with his ideology, yet he always bounces back with unwavering determination. At 39 years of age, the New York Jets QB has achieved remarkable feats, solidifying his status as an exceptional athlete. However, he attributes much of his recent success to his exploration of psychedelics.
His four-day darkness retreat is still talked about to this day when he claimed to have emerged as a transformed individual and a better athlete altogether. Moreover, he constantly voiced his opinion about the benefits of this said psychedelic use from time to time. After his darkness retreat was over, Rodgers decided to leave the Packers and join the team he claimed to have longed for years. It was then revealed how his relationship with his former team became very toxic, and how this psychedelic called ‘Ayahuasca‘ guided him towards a path of healing and self-discovery. Nevertheless, his recent appearance at the psychedelic conference in Denver showcased a similar theme, as he entertained a huge crowd while discussing the profound impact of the said psychedelic.
The 4x MVP claimed that the Ayahuasca has enhanced his performance and added how he became back-to-back MVP in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. He even added how he improved his stats to almost double by bringing up his 2019 stats and added, “previous year, 26 touchdowns, four interceptions. We had a good season. Ayahuasca, 48 touchdowns, five interceptions, MVP. What are you going to say?” to showcase how his stats improved just in one season after taking the psychedelic.
The star QB also called those people out who criticize him online for being very vocal about Ayahuasca, and labeled them as ‘bums‘. He further claimed that these people are the ones who never tried the plant-based psychedelic and should definitely try it to understand how it actually works.

Rodgers wants Ayahuasca to be legal in the country
In the same conference, Rodgers also highlighted a paradox where he explained how substances that enhance one’s mind are illegal in the country, while others that obstruct cognition are legal. He hinted at making psychedelics legal in the country, which has remained illegal at a federal level in the US. The 4x MVP also claimed that several athletes all over the sports industry often get in touch with him to talk about the psychedelic.
These aren’t the only instances Rodgers has endorsed this said psychedelic. He deliberately demonstrated the positive effects of his controlled use of Ayahuasca and how it had helped him become much happier than before. It only remains to be seen how the 4x MVP performs next season and if he keeps endorsing the psychedelics in the future.
