There are some milestones that even the best in the world don’t get to cross. Tom Brady is arguably the best player ever in the football world. But a former Raiders RB’s achievements dwarf that of the potential new owner of the franchise. And he doesn’t have to deal with the Jimmy Garoppolo crisis like Brady has to so he has the record and some peace after that. Brady would give anything for peace right now.

Marcus Allen spent more than a decade with the Raiders during a time when they were still based in Los Angeles. He achieved a lot with the franchise during his stint and got hold of every award that Brady has had his hands on. But before coming to the NFL, he achieved something that Brady couldn’t. And that is what makes the RB stand out, above Brady in accolades.

Marcus Allen won a Super Bowl with the Raiders and in the process, bagged the Super Bowl MVP. But Brady has seven of those rings and multiple Super Bowl MVPs. Allen also has an NFL MVP award under his belt but again, Brady has more than one of those. So how do the former Raiders RB’s achievements dwarf the potential new franchise co-owner? For that we need to look a little further back.

Well, Allen is the only player in NFL history to win all of that and the Heinsmen trophy. He achieved the feat when he won the most prestigious individual college football trophy back in 1981, a year before he entered the NFL. The six-time Pro Bowler won the Heinsmen while with the USC Trojans football program.

Every ardent Brady fan knows how his college career went so he didn’t have a shot at the trophy. He more than made it up in the NFL but it will always be something that Allen will have over the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB. But Brady won’t think much of it as he has his plate full with the Jimmy Garoppolo situation.

Tom Brady is becoming a new minority owner of the Raiders, according to reports. And his first order of business in his new position might be taking a decision on his former backup and friend Jimmy Garoppolo. Garoppolo signed for the Raiders this offseason after the San Francisco 49ers let him go. But he might not play a down for the Raiders as his foot injury is holding him back.

The new Raiders QB reportedly failed his medical tests in March. If the foot doesn’t heal properly, the franchise has an option to walk away from the deal at no cost. But that decision falls on the owners and Brady is on track to be a part of that group.

The decision by the Raiders might decide the career trajectory for Garoppolo. He did well last season with the Niners until the foot injury ruled him out. And now, the same foot injury can potentially end his Raiders stint before it starts. So, what does it prove? That you don’t need a Heinsmen trophy to make life changing decisions in the NFL.
