Aaron Rodgers is set to don his new jersey with the New York Jets. The QB, who holds several career passing records, recently shared his thoughts about the Green Gang being featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks. One of Rodgers’ longtime critics wasn’t aligned with the athlete’s statement. The former QB, who is now an analyst, took a jab at Rodgers by posting a sarcastic tweet.

The Super Bowl XLV winner is currently competing at the American Century celebrity golf tournament. However, he was least interested in the upcoming HBO docuseries. The question posed by the 2011 Heisman Trophy winner came as a joke to Rodgers and his colleagues as they supported his sentiment of losing control of what the Jets put on the field.

There has been a certain level of discomfort in the Jets squad for being featured in the Hard Knocks Season 20. The 4-time NFL MVP, Aaron Rodgers responded to the NFL’s decision of picking the Jets for the upcoming docuseries.

The New York Jets QB told KPIX-TV from the American Century (celebrity golf) Championship in Lake Tahoe, “Look, I understand the appeal with us. Obviously, there are a lot of eyes on me, a lot of eyes on our team, and a lot of expectations for our squad.”

There was one comment that did not go down well with analyst and former QB Robert Griffin III. Aaron Rodgers said in his interview, “They forced it down our throats and we gotta deal with it.”

Griffin was surprised considering that Hard Knocks airs every year, it is not something that should bother a team’s preparation much. The #2 pick of the 2012 NFL Draft took a jab at Rodgers and tweeted, Excuse me, Aaron Rodgers, they forced WHAT!?”

Even though Rodgers felt that the NFL’s decision was forced upon them, he referred to the long-running series’ host Liev Schreiber as “the voice of God”. The QB and the Jets feel that even though they have no control, they are prepared for everything that comes next.

How do the Jets feel about Hard Knocks?

Other Green Gang players also shared their thoughts about the Jets being featured in the Hard Knocks. Their head coach Robert Saleh said in an interview, There’s a difference between being ready and prepared. We’re prepared for everything. Again, we have no control over this, but we have control over what we put on the field for ourselves every day.”

During his appearance on The Pivot Podcast, the Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner shared that as long as the guys handled it right, the docuseries would be a great thing. He added, “That can be some great adversity honestly, some great distraction that will help us mentally going through all these cameras.”

When it comes to such docuseries, Patrick Mahomes is a classic example. The Kansas City Chiefs QB won the Super Bowl LIV while shooting for long hours for Netflix’s recently released Quarterback. The Jets just need to remain inspired.
