The similarities between Joe Burrow and Dan Marino
Just like Joe Burrow, Dan Marino was also a college superstar. But the major difference between the two is Burrow was the number one draft pick overall. The Dolphins selected Marino as their 27th pick in 1983. Miami has just lost the Super Bowl in the previous season.
Both Burrow and Marino were very impressive in their first two seasons. Marino started 25 games with the Dolphins and won 21 of them. The quarterback had a 62.2% completion rate with 7,294 yards and 23 interceptions. He made 68 touchdowns and was sacked 23 times.
Burrow started 26 games and has a record of 12-13-1. His completion rate is 68.1% along with 7,299 yards and 19 interceptions. Burrow only made 47 touchdowns, and he was sacked 83 times.
Veterans give Burrow advice after losing the Super Bowl
Just like Joe Burrow, Dan Marino also made it to the Super Bowl in his second season. But the Dolphins could not get the job done. With a score of 16-38, the 49ers walked away with the Lombardi trophy in 1985. Marino never recovered from the loss, and the Hall of Famer failed to get a ring through his career.
