During the recent episode of ‘Speak For Yourself’, former Browns LB Emmanuel Acho and sports journalist Jason Whitlock got into the nitty-gritty. Both of them discussed Watson joining the Browns and what it means for the team. Both of them put forth some valid points.

Former Browns LB believes that Baker Mayfield was the weak link

Emmanuel Acho is very happy that Deshaun Watson has joined the Cleveland Browns. He thinks this is the best trade of the offseason. According to the former linebacker, the Browns needed a new quarterback desperately. It was either Aaron Rodgers or Deshaun Watson, and he is glad the Browns chose Watson.

“You desperately needed a quarterback.” Said Acho. “And not only did you get a quarterback. You got one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League. Then you got one of the best young quarterbacks in the National Football League. If the Browns weren’t Super Bowl contenders before, and we knew they were not because of their quarterback, Baker Mayfield. Then you instantaneously become a Super Bowl contender when you take away the weakest link of the team in Baker and you instantly make that player in the spat position the strongest link.”

It was clear that Acho was not holding back when it came to Baker Mayfield. Being a member of the Dawg Pound, he thinks that Mayfield was the reason for the Browns’ downfall. Maybe Watson will bring a new ray of hope to the franchise.

Jason Whitlock disagrees with Acho
