The Packers lost their chance to advance to the playoffs and for them, the offseason has officially started. But what will that mean for the lead quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, whose future is uncertain? A recent development in ‘Rodgers Chronicle’ suggests that there is too much similarity between him and the team’s former starting QB’s fate.
Although the elite QB hasn’t retired yet, he is still under contract with a lot of money that is to be paid to him. Therefore, a decision from his side is pending.
Yes Aaron Rodgers has a $60M guarantee next year and yes, that's a ton of money to walk away from.

Andrew Brandt, a former NFL executive, brought some information to the surface. The future Hall of Famer will get $60 million. One cannot stray away from that kind of money. The QB could never decide whether or not he should retire after each season. In 2007, he retired. But the 53-year-old reported to the training camp in 2008 after he retired, the team had already moved on to A-Rod.
Consequently, the Packers traded him to the New York Jets. Isn’t there a slight similarity between both quarterbacks? There have always been questions about their retirements.

That is not the only thing that is strangely coincidental about them. Jordan Love could almost replace Rodgers when he sustained an injury to his rib cage. When Favre was injured, the back-to-back MVP award winner replaced him.
