The 2021 NFL Draft is scheduled to be held between April 29th-May 1st later this year. As of now, the event is set to be staged in Ohio, but any change in COVID-19 regulations can affect that setting.
There are a host of top-rated quarterback prospects coming up in this year’s draft. A few of them are Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Kyle Trask, Trey Lance, and Ohio State prodigy, Justin Fields.
The 22-year-old impressed yet again in his final season with OSU as they made the 2021 CFP National Championship Game. They suffered a 33-17 defeat at the hands of the Nick Saban-coached Alabama.

But Fields ended his NCAA college football career with 5,700+ passing yards, 67 passing touchdowns against just 9 interceptions.
He is tipped to be a potential Top-10 pick at the upcoming draft. However, a certain former NFL player-turned-analyst believes Fields could be a star of the future.

The Justin Fields vs Trevor Lawrence debate could go on forever. But there’s no hiding the fact that the former is one of the best quarterbacks to ever feature for Ohio State.
Since transferring from Georgia in 2018, Fields won several Big Ten Conference awards at OSU and was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2019.
But former NFL running back-turned-pro analyst Louis Riddick suggests Fields would be the perfect candidate to replace San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo.
“Look I love Justin Fields, I just think Justin Fields would be perfect in the same type of scenario as Trey Lance, so to San Francisco, I think that would make more sense,” Riddick said Friday while in conversation on ‘Get Up’.
Fields ended his college football career with just 2 losses from 22 games while at OSU. He also rushed for 1,133 yards along with 19 rushing touchdowns.

But some critics have claimed that Fields is still not an NFL-caliber quarterback as compared to the likes of Lawrence, Wilson, and Lance.
Coach Kyle Shanahan currently has Jimmy G and former 1st-round Josh Rosen on his roster in San Francisco. But if they could somehow manage to trade up and bring in Fields, that could serve as a potential boost to their Super Bowl ambitions.
