On Sunday, the star-duo of Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase will play their first Super Bowl together. The former LSU teammates will face the LA Rams in Los Angeles. After winning the National Championship for LSU, they are set to compete for the Super Bowl LVI title.

This dream journey is the product of hours of preparation and dedication. Steve Ensminger, the former LSU co-offensive coordinator, spoke with ESPN about the Burrow-Chase connection. According to Ensminger, Joe Burrow would always be found practicing with other receivers, especially Ja’Marr Chase.

Furthermore, he said that Joe has an incredible amount of trust in Chase. He also mentioned that although the team had other talented players, Burrow’s top priority was always Chase.

Ensminger added, “Joe just knew he was going to go up and get the football. Whether it was a back-shoulder, whether it was out in front of him, whether it was a contested-catch”. Additionally, he mentioned, “Guys around the offense laughed about the 50-50 ball. They said, ‘Hey, in this room, with Ja’Marr and Joe, it’s an 80-20 ball.’”

The Joe Burrow & Ja’Marr Chase duo is set to dominate the league

Louisiana State University will be proud to have its two alumni playing in Sunday’s Super Bowl for the Cincinnati Bengals. Both players were acquired by LSU in 2018; Burrow was a transfer graduate from Ohio State University, while Chase was a true freshman. With Chase on board, Burrow and Chase made for an explosive duo.

LSU’s 2019 college football season was a dream run. LSU’s offense broke several college football playoff records, along with national and conference records. Additionally, Burrow was the best college football player at the time and won the Heisman Trophy.

And the nation’s best receiver, Chase won the Biletnikoff Award. The duo combined for a total of 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns during the dream season. Ultimately, they won the National Championship after defeating the Clemson Tigers.
