The Dallas Cowboys, at the start of the offseason, traded away Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns. He was their WR1 for three seasons. Now, the Cowboys head towards a new era with CeeDee Lamb as their new WR1 in Dallas.

Amari Cooper recently opened up on his exit from Dallas. He knew his exit was close as he heard all the rumors and saw all that was transpiring on social media. As a result, he wasn’t shocked by what happened and is looking forward to life in Cleveland.

Talking about his exit from Dallas, Cooper on “Norm and D Invasion” on Sportsradio 96.7-FM/1310-AM The Ticket said, “I do understand it is a business. I wouldn’t say I didn’t perform, but if you don’t get the stats–anything is bound to happen. Just the situation. We had so many different targets and stuff like that, I just didn’t put up the numbers that I used to put up. So, hey…”

Many people were upset with the departure of Cooper from Dallas. Moreover, the assets that the Cowboys got from the Cleveland Browns for Amari Cooper weren’t good enough either for a player of his caliber.

Cooper is excited to see CeeDee Lamb as the new WR1 for the Dallas Cowboys

CeeDee Lamb will be required to carry the Dallas Cowboys on the offensive end in the upcoming season. Even Amari Cooper is very excited to see his former teammate get the responsibility to lead the team.

Talking about seeing Lamb as WR1, Cooper said, “CeeDee’s been ready. Again, it’s just about opportunity. I think if Kellen (Moore) decides to feature him, he’s definitely ready to step up. CeeDee is a playmaker… We’ve all seen what he’s able to do when you throw him the fade. He’s been ready. He’s going to make the plays when his jersey number is called, and I can’t wait to see it happen.”

Dak Prescott will have immense pressure on him as well. He will be required to lead the team without his most productive target.
