The NFL finally announced its decision on the suspension of Deshaun Watson. He will be given an 11-game suspension. Earlier, Watson’s suspension was supposed to be only six games, but now he will miss eleven. He will make his Browns debut against his old team, the Houston Texans, in Week 13.

Due to the Cleveland Browns’ losing Deshaun Watson for the first 11 games of the season, a former GM of the franchise has urged them to go for Jimmy Garoppolo.

Jimmy G’s exit from the San Francisco 49ers was inevitable as Trey Lance took the QB1 spot. Michael Lombardi, the former Browns GM, was very vocal about bringing in Garoppolo.

He said, “I know this is a little bit of a disruption, but you can go get Garoppolo and save your season. The offense being run in Cleveland is the same terminology as the offense in San Francisco. Garoppolo could walk into Cleveland tomorrow, and within about a week he would be able to execute their offense.”

Lombardi added, “Look, this notion that Deshaun is just going to come back in Week 12 and all of the sudden magically score, throw four touchdown passes and dominate the NFL, that’s unrealistic. That’s not even remotely accurate.”

Michael Lombardi doesn’t want to see the franchise waste another season of this talented roster. Due to it, he wants the franchise to go and bring a good quarterback like Jimmy Garoppolo for this season.

Will Jimmy Garoppolo be a good option in the absence of Deshaun Watson?

The Cleveland Browns have a great enough roster to contend. All they need is a good quarterback, and they are ready. Deshaun Watson is basically the star that fits perfectly for them. However, in the absence of Watson, Garoppolo would be the best available option.

No matter how full of flaws Jimmy G’s game is, he gets the job done. He is a winning quarterback, and the Browns desperately need to get some wins in a difficult division.

If they do not bring in a good quarterback until Watson’s return, that would basically mean they are wasting another season. Not many on that talented team would be happy with that decision.
