Eric Bieniemy is one of the best and most respected Offensive Coordinators around the league. He has been with the Kansas City Chiefs for the past four seasons. The KC offense has quite arguably been the best in the league since Erik took over alongside Andy Reid.

As a result, he has always been involved in the talks of a head coaching role whenever a spot opens up. However, he hasn’t found any success yet despite his multiple attempts.

Former Chiefs Running Back LeSean McCoy went off on the I AM ATHLETE podcast and slammed his former OC. LeSean McCoy talked about why Eric isn’t able to get an HC job in the league.

He said, “There’s a reason why every year they hype him up to get a job and then when the time comes, nobody hires him because they know the type of coach he really is,”

He claimed that Eric talked to players in “a certain way” which was inappropriate. McCoy further went on to say that Eric was the reason why he left the Chiefs after winning the Super Bowl.

How will McCoy’s comments impact Eric Bieniemy getting an HC role?

Eric Bieniemy hasn’t had success yet in his search for a head coaching position. He has had interviews almost everywhere, but no one has given him the chance. Many people do wonder why is Eric not getting the HC position despite him being an exceptional coach. LeSean McCoy’s comments might just have given the answer to those people.

Despite McCoy’s comments, there is no denying Eric’s coaching skills. As stated above, the Chiefs’ offense has been one of the best in the league for a good amount of time. The way he has worked with the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill has been quite remarkable.

Mahomes has always had words of praise for his OC, and other players in KC also respect him a lot. He will be back again in KC for his 5th season, as he and Andy Reid will hope to win another Super Bowl with their talented team.
