An ardent Atlanta Falcons fan might remember the name ‘Michael Vick’ with the utmost respect. Vick started his journey in the NFL league with the Falcons, and during the second season, he laid his foundation to become an icon.
Michael Vick was the first overall pick for the Atlanta Falcons in the 2001 NFL Draft. Vick was mostly known for his quick feet, as he was considered one of the most mobile quarterbacks in his days. However, his throwing game was equally commendable as he could throw as far as 70 yards down the field.

Atlanta Falcons’ star quarterback, who shook the world
On December 1, 2002, almost 19 years ago, Vick rushed for a 46-yard touchdown run, which later would be known as one of his best plays ever. The Atlanta Falcons had a slow start that season as, after four games, they had a record of 1-3. However, as Vick overtook the QB role, the Falcons entered Week 13 with a respectable seven-game winning streak.

Vick’s next challenge was against the 8-3 Minnesota Vikings. It was little known to him that game would make him every kid’s hero. The rookie quarterback made an incredible run in the overtime to end the contest. He rolled to his left for a scramble and rushed all the way through to the touchline, making two Minnesota players collide with each other on the way.

That run created an iconic moment that Vick himself remembers to this day as “One of my best plays.” Vick called it a day with 173 yards rushing, which was an NFL record at that point. Due to that emphatic run, Vick is now forever known as one of the most electrifying quarterbacks of all time.
