Winners respect winners. The same is the case for Tom Brady and Lewis Hamilton who both established themselves as the best in their respective sports. The two first got accustomed to each other during last year’s IWC event and soon a timeless bond of mutual admiration and respect was formed.

Hamilton is headed into this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix, attempting to secure the record for most championships in the history of the sport. The seven-time world champion and his ambitions resonate with the immaculate record set by Tom Brady winning a record seven Super Bowl championships, and maybe Brady will serve as an inspiration to yet another great.

Speaking on his bond with Tom Brady, Lewis Hamilton said, “We were actually messaging this morning. He’s so incredibly supportive and we support each other. For someone that was so inspirational within his sport, very impactful, great team leader, there’s so much to learn from him and take from him.

Additionally, Hamilton believes that there are many few who can actually relate to the struggles of being at the top of your sport, and Brady is one of those chosen ones. The ability to confide in individuals who have walked a similar path has just solidified their friendship, and Hamilton certainly treasures it.

The two share many similarities, in addition to their championship mentality even living close to each other. Back in 2019, Hamilton purchased a lavish penthouse at 70 Vestry St for $40.7 Million and just on the floor below resided the legendary quarterback. Additionally, both Brady and Hamilton have rallied behind similar causes, supporting the LGBTQ community with all their might.

Lewis Hamilton has been one of the biggest champions for the LGBTQ community, donning a helmet decorated with a rainbow in support of the cause. The F1 star also called out the anti-LGBTQ measures enacted by Florida lawmakers and expressed his displeasure with the injustice.

Brady on the other hand has remained silent on the matter throughout his career, but silence doesn’t mean rejection. Brady’s former teammate Ryan O’Callaghan came out publicly and even though Brady didn’t reach out to him, O’Callaghan believes that Brady would have accepted him without any judgment.

A similar account was derived from Steve Buckley. The longtime Boston sports columnist came out as gay publicly in 2011 and only had praise for the legendary quarterback, “Tom Brady was always super friendly to me before I came out and super friendly to me after I came out, If I needed him for a couple of seconds alone I was able to get him. He was always cooperative and friendly with me and I never expected anything beyond that.
