Following the impressive display by Patrick Mahomes at a recent charitable event left fans abuzz with excitement. Throughout his school and college years, the Kansas City Chiefs QB not only excelled in football but also showcased his skills in baseball. While he ultimately pursued a career in football and achieved Super Bowl LVII victory, his passion for baseball remained steadfast. This is evident through his off-field ventures and his occasional appearances on the baseball pitch.

Now, the spotlight shifts to another versatile and gifted QB as he receives the call-up to the pitcher’s plate.

Mahomes commitment to football meant he had to put baseball on the backseat. But he made sure it never truly faded away even as he progressed in life. Patrick Mahomes went on to acquire a part of the Kansas City Royals as a minority stakeholder. This saw him earn an opportunity to play at the charity event hosted earlier this year. He also got the chance to show off his baseball skills alongside his genius in the NFL.

The Big Slick Celebrity Softball game was hosted in order to raise money for the Children’s Mercy Hospital. The game saw Mahomes Buddy and teammate Creed Humphrey join him alongside other stars. Mahomes put up an impressive display at the charity game, hitting an in-park home run. On top of that he assisted in pitching duty too, stepping up to the mound, replacing Jeremy Guthrie.

This has seen Mahomes rival, Jalen Hurts also take up the opportunity with the neighboring MLB outfit. Jalen Hurts and Co has been venturing and enjoying the proposition of heading to the city’s MLB outfit Philadelphia Phillies.

Jalen Hurts bats at the Phillies

On Tuesday, Jalen Hurts and his teammates from the Philadelphia Eagles headed to the Philadelphia Phillies. It came as a surprise to most fans, but it was a welcome one. The Phillies uploaded pictures of Hurts and teammates enjoying a round of batting practice with the Phillies players.

This comes after last summer when Jalen Hurts was involved with the celebrity game, DeVonta Smith’s Celebrity softball game. In the game, Hurts hit the game-winning home run which secured the win for his team. The second edition of the celebrity game is coming up on 10th June, in Allentown Pennsylvania.

Patrick Mahomes interest and involvement in baseball has sparked interest from fellow rivals in the NFL. With Jalen Hurts now among the baseball enthusiasts, the crossover could work for both MLB and NFL going forward.
