The Kansas City Union Station witnessed a celebration of the highest order on Thursday. Patrick Mahomes and his Super Bowl LVII winning roster finally got what they had been waiting for, ever since the start of the 2022 season. The championship rings glittered on the Kingdom’s warriors. However, while the cameras panned on Mahomes and his tight end, Travis Kelce, there was one key member of the Chiefs Kingdom missing from the party.

The Kansas City Chiefs donned their Lombardi rings in a private ceremony. And this was extra special because the franchise didn’t get to enjoy the same experience after their Super Bowl LIV victory owing to the COVID-19 quarantine protocols. But not everyone made it to Union Station for the joyous occasion.

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes were among the many who revelled in the ring ceremony this week. However, Patrick’s biggest cheerleader, his mother, Randi Mahomes, missed all the action.

It’s been a rough couple of months for the 50-year-old mother of three. With her youngest son, Jackson Mahomes battling his own headlines after his arrest and release following assault and battery charges, the sorrows compounded for Randi Mahomes when she lost her best friend and mother, Debbie Martin, earlier this year. Randi has been using her social media to propagate and spread the love her mother taught her ever since her passing. More recently, she posted a picture with her mother on Instagram and captioned it with an emotional message. “It still doesn’t feel real. Miss you, Mom. I love you,” she wrote.

Irrespective of Randi Mahomes’ absence, Patrick Mahomes and his entourage had a blast at the ring ceremony. And the 2x Super Bowl MVP sounded mighty impressed with the ring.

That’s what you work for, was to win the Super Bowl and get those rings. They last a lifetime. To be able to see them, I know they’ve done a great job with them. I got to help out a little bit with the creation process. I got to see the process of it. And gave some ideas and stuff like that,” Mahomes said about Jostens, the company that made the championship rings.
