The year 2023 brought sorrowful news to DeAndre Hopkins. As the previous season concluded, the Cardinals almost immediately started looking for trade partners for the WR. Could it be the declining age or the performance-enhancing drug scandal that led to a 6-game suspension? No one could say for sure. Despite being one of the most ruthless in his position, Hopkins struggled to find a new home for the past few months. Also, it was very interesting that even the likes of the Bills, Chiefs, and Patriots were buttering the wide receiver for weeks on end, and yet failed to negotiate a deal.

In recent news, the 5x Pro Bowl finally found his perfect fit, days before the gap would eventually close. With a whopping deal of $32 million, it’s as gigantic as the theatrical box office of the Titanic.

The former Cardinals now plays for one of the biggest underdogs in the league, the Tennessee Titans. Since its inception in the late 90s, the team has managed to appear in the Super Bowl only once, just to be defeated by the St. Louis Rams, now renamed to LA Rams. As the Titans struggled for almost two decades, they were also very consistent, making minor improvements for years on end. And this season, they have outdone themselves, potentially becoming a Super Bowl contender.

NFL reporter Dianna Russini was the first one to come out with the news of Hopkins’ signing. And soon after, the wide receiver himself confirmed the huge update on Twitter. He wrote in a tweet, “I always loved having haters and doubters but I appreciate it even more now. Titan up!!” As one of the most coveted athletes in the league, Hopkins secured a substantial contract worth $26 million with incentives. For the current season, Hopkins will get paid $12 million, with a chance to earn $3 million more in incentives.

How are the Titans looking this season?

Aside from the ruthless WR, the Copperheads made some interesting decisions this season. They even selected QB, Will Levis in round 2, despite their starter Ryan Tannehill and also, Malik Willis present on the roster. Therefore, the OTAs will be the final decision for the team to make a strong decision in the upcoming season. The 6-foot-4, 229 pounds, Levis has huge potential with 46 total touchdowns playing for the Kentucky Wildcats. So it’s safe to say that the OTAs will be captivating.
