Fans remember NBA legend Michael Jordan’s comeback into professional basketball. Not once, but twice in his career. The first comeback was in 1995 when Jordan released a press statement stating, “I’m back” after a 17-month break during which he tried his hands at baseball. His second comeback. His second comeback was at the age of 38 with the Washington Wizards in 2001. And he finally retired from the game at the age of 40 in 2003. Now it seems like his legacy will be matched by controversial NFL star Antonio Brown in the NFL.

It has been a while since Brown played a professional football match. But fans won’t have to wait long to see the controversial WR back in action. The ex-Tampa Bay Buccaneers player is now gearing up to follow Jordan’s legacy, as he is expecting to make a comeback to pro football in the National Arena League.

It’s been around 500 days since his infamous exit from the Buccaneers last year when he left the field after taking off his jersey and gear. Now, AB is set to play pro football once again with the Albany Empire. He recently acquired the NAL franchise as the owner of the team. But his debut ownership reign was riddled with controversies, as players and the team coach accused him of not paying salaries and locking them out of their hotel now. Now AB is looking to take things into his own hands, after a dismal start to their 2023 season in the league.

In a recent Instagram story posted by WR/DB Brian Foy, we see Brown geared up and putting in reps with the team before their match against the Fayetteville Mustangs on Saturday. If AB plays in the match on Saturday, he will become the first pro football player-owner since George Halas’s days with the Chicago Bears

Prior to Brown’s acquisition, the Albany Empire were back-to-back champions in the NAL. But after Brown’s acquisition, they are currently in 6th place with a 1-4 record. Their most recent defeat was a 79-14 humiliation by the Sharks. AB took to Twitter after the defeat to promise fans of better days to come.

And now with him gearing up to play after a 17-month hiatus, fans will see the Super Bowl LV champion back in action in a league that might be easier than the NFL for Antonio Brown. The ex-NFL star recently had promised to play if the tickets for the MVP arena sold out. But now, fans will get to witness Brown back in action irrespective of ticket sales on May 27th.
