It looks as if the Steelers star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is preparing to leave the franchise. Since according to a ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Roethlisberger has told his teammates and other members of the Pittsburgh Steelers management that he expects 2021 to be his final year with the franchise.
Since being drafted by the Steelers in 2004 as an eleventh pick overall, Roethlisberger has spent 18 seasons with the team. He is now in the last season as per his reworked two-year contract. The 39-year-old quarterback has shown no sign that he plans to retire from football. But, that certainly remains a possibility if he does so.

Ben Roethlisberger plans to leave the Steelers
As per Schefter, it’s very improbable that Roethlisberger joins another club, since the Steelers quarterback is treating these final six regular season games as his last of his career, if the Steelers cannot make the playoffs.
Roethlisberger holds all key Steelers’ passing records, including passing yards (62,870), touchdown passes (410), passer rating (93.8), and completion percentage (64.4). With the Steelers, he has the most victories of any quarterback in team history, with 161.
Ben Roethlisberger privately has told former teammates and some within the organization that he expects this to be his final season playing quarterback for the Steelers, league sources told ESPN.

Roethlisberger is sixth all-time in passing yards and ninth in touchdown passes, and he has the third-most fourth-quarter comebacks in NFL history, trailing only Tom Brady (43) and Peyton Manning (38). (41). In addition, he ranks seventh all-time in quarterback victories.

The Pittsburgh Steelers currently occupy the third spot in the AFC North division table with a mere 5-5-1 record so far this season. They are a half-game behind Raiders to occupy the last place in the conference playoffs.

If the Steelers can pull off an unbeaten run starting Sunday, they can have a phenomenal last dance with the quarterback Roethlisberger for a chance to win his third Super Bowl title with the franchise. However, whether he parts ways with the Steelers or not is yet to be seen.
