The single 54-year-old legend of the NFL seemed to be blown away by a 64-year-old Oscar-nominated actress. But he quickly cooled down once the fans asked him to shoot his shot.

The Hall of Fame tight end is not currently married and has not commented on his relationship status. But he doesn’t want anyone making a big deal of his Twitter compliments.

Shannon Sharpe couldn’t control his excitement on seeing actress Angela Bassett during the 2023 Academy Awards. He took to Twitter to compliment the actress on her dress.

The fans quickly picked up the tweet and asked Sharpe to shoot his shot with the Oscar-nominated actress. But the former Denver Broncos tight end played down his tweet in another one and asked the fans to not make a big deal out of it.

“Please don’t make any more out this comment than someone giving credit on a gorgeous dress. Nothing more,” the three-time Super Bowl champion said in the additional tweet.

Bassett attended the Academy Awards as a nominee on Sunday. She got a Beat Supporting Actress nomination for her role in Marvel’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’ The actress, who played the role of the Queen of Wakanda in the movie, wore a stunning purple gown. And it surely caught the eye of an always eagle-eyed Sharpe.

Sharpe dating life

Although he has dated a few women, Shannon Sharpe married no one. Even at the moment, the NFL legend is dating his longtime girlfriend, Katy Kellner. The flywheel fitness instructor is dating Sharpe since 2019. Despite their dating duration, Sharpe made no comment on it. So, does he want to appear single? – No idea.
