One of the biggest underdogs in the league has finally unleashed their full potential. The Atlanta Falcons are killing it in the training camps, with day 7 of their practice being concluded on Wednesday. Nonetheless, it wasn’t only the athletes who were getting into the spirit of the game, as the owner of the team, Arthur Blank, has also joined hands with his staff in order to spread smiles all around the community.

It was a heartfelt gesture that involved a penalty that was jokingly foisted by the HC of the team, Arthur Smith. A small but helpful 1500 dollars was put up for charity, but it didn’t seem to impress many.

The Falcons’ training camp has ignited excitement among the fans, with impressive performances this season. Both the defensive and offensive rosters are battling it out on the gridiron, and rookies and veterans alike are shining in the camps. Amidst these eventful camps, a beat reporter for the Atlanta Journal Constitution was seemingly absent, which led to a $500 fine.

Falcons’ HC Smith was the one who jokingly imposed the fine on the journalist for missing training camp on July 26 and July 27. He was even served with an official letter which was posted on Instagram. The journalist responded by showing up to the next camp with a giant cardboard check for $500, which was meant to be donated to a charity of the team’s choice. The moment turned even more heartwarming when the HC and the team’s owner matched the amount, which became a total of $1500.

Despite the generous gesture, some fans weren’t entirely pleased, as they felt that an owner with a billion-dollar team donating only $500 wasn’t enough.

US songwriter Adam Schefter was the first to post the letter, narrating the entire incident in the caption. He personally captured the picture, but it appeared slightly blurry, leaving fans puzzled. Then there were those who complained about the sum of the charity in the comments. While a user showed his frustration by writing, “Wow, $1000 total from a millionaire and a billionaire?? How generous! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️”, another instigated the same, commenting, “1500 dollars? That’s it?

A user by the name preachjacobs also wrote, “The owner of the Falcons don’t get props for donating 500 dollars lol

Although there were several comments with the same agenda, there were definitely some applauding the initiative, writing, “People find something negative to say about EVERYTHING these days. No doubt a reflection of their own misery. Nice story/ gestures here nonetheless.

Lastly, a fan jokingly added, “You could say it ended up being a Blank Check,” bringing humor to the situation.

Regardless of how the story unfolds, the Falcons’ remarkable improvements this season have positioned them as a strong Super Bowl contender.
