The NFL world recently lost one of its greatest players to ever play in the league. After his record-breaking short stint in the NFL, Brown entered Hollywood as an actor. With appearances in over 30 films, Jim Brown also became a pivotal figure in the civil rights movement back then. The former Cleveland Browns passed away recently at the age of 87 years old in his home in Los Angeles. The news of his death was announced by his wife Mrs. Monique Brown, who took to social media to share the devastating news with fans. Brown is survived by his wife and six children. But somehow ESPN has got in between all this.
While the NFL world mourns the death of the enigmatic running back of the 60s, some fans were left feeling offended by ESPN’s coverage of Jim Brown’s life. And now, they want ESPN to do its part in respecting the late NFL star after posting questionable content hours after his death.

Jim Brown has made a successful life for himself and his family. But rather than focusing on the achievements of Jim Brown, ESPN took a more controversial route in talking about the alleged accusations that surround the NFL legend’s life.
What the hell is this from ESPN.

In a tweet shared by ML Football, it shares a snippet of ESPN’s article that covers the controversies that Brown was allegedly accused of. From alleged sex offenses to assaults, the snippets look like it talks about only the negative controversies that were a part of Brown’s life. ML Football questioned the intention of ESPN, as they wrote in the tweet, “Show some respect to Jim Brown and his family, he just passed away and they are going through the grieving process”.
And it seems like fans were in agreement, as even they reacted to the way ESPN has covered the NFL star’s life.
NFL fans not happy with the ESPN coverage
Fans took to the tweet to show their discontentment over the way the network wrote the article about Jim Brown’s life. One fan expressed his feelings.
He showed support for our former President.
They are not gonna let him live that down even in death.
RIP Mr. Brown!— JIMMYGUNZ (@MRJIMMYBRO) May 19, 2023
Another fan commented that the channel did the same with a player from Red Sox.
Same network that asked a Red Sox player what Mothers Day means to him knowing his mother had passed away

This fan stated that the channel only wants to focus on the negative aspects of Brown’s life.
Seems like they want to focus on all the negative aspects of his career instead of shining light on everything positive he did as an actor and community social activist. #RIP Jim Brown 🇺🇲🏈🇺🇲 @NFL @espn @SportsCenter @CBSSports @ESPNNFL #USA #UnitedStates

Another fan felt that ESPN should have waited for a while and not written such an article just hours after his death.
I don’t mind reporting all the facts but definitely should have let this one breathe for a bit.

This fan felt that ESPN is anyways not a credible network.
The level of disrespect. ESPN is a garbage network these days anyways, but this justifies the hate.
