The Rams and quarterback Matthew Stafford have been reportedly in talks for a contract extension following their Super Bowl victory. However, there is a factor that has surprised the fans as the Rams have guaranteed him relatively less money than that of what Deshaun Watson will get.

Currently, Stafford will be with the Los Angeles Rams for a long time; despite the quarterback deal market being utterly out of control. The player has now inked a new contract that will keep him in Los Angeles for an extended amount of time.

After 12 years with Detroit Lions, who traded the 2009 No. 1 overall draft pick to Los Angeles one year ago. Stafford is reaping in on his remarkable inaugural season with the Rams. Stafford will be 38 years old at the end of the contract extension season.

According to insider sources, the team and its Super Bowl-winning quarterback have agreed on a four-year, $160 million contract. This includes $135 million in guaranteed money and a $60 million signing bonus. The Rams’ prospects of doing so have strengthened as well, with Stafford effectively ‘running it back’ at a favorable cap number.
