During 11-on-11 drills, Burrow sustained a non-contact injury that required him to be taken off the field on a cart. He immediately pulled up lame, grabbing his lower leg before being transported away from the session. Head coach Zac Taylor later confirmed to ESPN that Burrow had suffered a strained calf and is currently undergoing treatment. ESPN took to Instagram and shared the disheartening news, “Joe Burrow was carted off the field after suffering an apparent right leg injury during Bengals training camp.” Now, the timeline for Burrow’s comeback is vague, with the extent of the injury unknown. Joe B catalyzed the Cincinnati Bengals’ hope of winning their first Super Bowl title. After all, his impressive stats makes him ‘the one’ that Mike Brown or his franchise cannot lose at any cost. But some questions arise: Could the Bengals be in trouble with this unexpected injury? How will they work to maintain their chances of winning the Super Bowl championship?
But it seems like the team has opted for a “wait-and-see” outlook towards this situation, as Trent Taylor talked to FOX19, saying, “I think a lot of guys after the first day have some soreness. He was just scrambling. This is football. Guys go down with an injury. This could be a day thing; who knows? There are a lot of guys that had soreness today that had their reps cut down a little bit. That’s just part of football in training camp.” Even though the team is looking at the situation from a ‘half glass full’ lense, the fans have succumbed to fear for their team as they wish their star quarterback a quick recovery.

“Guys are excited to be back… It’s a long season, a long training camp. It’s going to be intense on that field,” Burrow told reporters at camp. Though, this excitement has turned to worry and fear amongst fans as they cope with the news of Joe B’s unfortunate injury. Though the team is hoping for a recovery, was this serious? The Bengals’ hope for the win would be over. And the Who Deys realize this as they react to this news.
A fan wrote, “Suck it up. Mahomes played post-season with a bum ankle. And y’all talked burrowhead. Prayers for a speedy recovery.”
Another wrote, “There goes my fantasy football season,” while one supported it by posting, “Rip my fantasy team.”

Though some fans contemplate why this could have happened, one wrote, “You can tell guys not working out in the offseason those non-contact injuries are the most severe. I ruptured my Achilles just running, no contact just like that.” Another supported it by saying, “Torn Achilles for sure. Smh”. Like the team, even fans remain uncertain of what it could be, but one thing is sure, they all want their QB back on the team for the season.
